As a Master
Black Belt, Robert reorganized and restructured the existing Six
Sigma organization, consulted and led Black Belts conducting 130
projects, and directed the overall Six Sigma initiative for six
manufacturing facilities, resulting in $13.2 Million in improvements.
Robert moved to become the Master Black
Belt for the Sales and Marketing organization, where he was responsible
for the creation and implementation of the Six Sigma initiative;
worked with upper management to establish goals and determine resource
needs; and led or consulted on over 50 projects. In addition, his
enormous success was published in Sales and Marketing the Six Sigma
Way, by Michael Webb.
Robert holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Auburn University. He is a passionate about applying his experience, knowledge and background to achieving breakthroughs that previously appeared unobtainable.

Ballard - As the founder and President of BIS, Mr. Ballard
has an extensive background in the deployment and use of Lean and
Six Sigma methodologies in World-Class manufacturing, transactional,
sales/marketing, and training environments. He has excellent public
speaking skills, and has proven his effectiveness in creating motivating
environments and teams that focus on bottom line results. He is
driven, dedicated, and determined.
Robert has worked with major consulting firms such as Six Sigma Management Institute, Datazinc, Implementation Services, and GPS. He has worked as an independent consultant with Kraft Foods conducting plant assessments and he has also worked in Suriname, South America with a leading gold mining company. His activities included leading Kaizen events and Lean Six Sigma projects. Along with project assignments he was responsible for mentoring the continuous improvement efforts of the company. He consulted with AT&T to help develop and execute their Six Sigma initiative. His responsibilities there included providing assessments of the overall effectiveness of the Six Sigma program, as well as coaching and mentoring Black Belt candidates. He provided direction and feedback to ensure that the initiative resulted in a long-term successful deployment.
Robert gained most of his experience while working at Shaw Industries, Inc., a Berkshire Hathaway Company when he joined the company in 1991. As the ISO 9000 Coordinator, he received the ISO Quality System Auditor certification, and successfully coordinated the implementation of the ISO Quality System and received certification ahead of schedule. As a Black Belt, he developed the training material for Department Managers and plant supervisors, was responsible for general management and operation of the Quality Engineering Department, and developed the Corrective Action system.
