Design for Six Sigma:

DFSS is a strategic but rigorous approach to designing products and services to perform at a Six Sigma level at the initial product or service design phase. If your organization launches new products or services as part of the business then DFSS is a methodology that should not be ignored. As with any manufacturing process, product and services should likewise be viewed as a process.  A critical but often overlooked step in the DFSS approach is understanding the needs of the customer. The design of the product or services should take an"outside in" approach to ensure that the demands and expectations of the customer are "designed" into the product or service.

While keeping an eye on the needs of the customer during the design phase, DFSS also focuses on the capability of the manufacturing (or service procedures) to ensure that the process can perform at a Six Sigma level. Holistically, the objective of DFSS is to result in a product or service that not only performs at a Six Sigma level from the customer's perspective but also from the process itself by eliminating defects and waste.

DFSS Candidates should:

Be responsible for directing or executing a product development effort

Be self-starters

Be passionate about making improvements to the business

Have strong project management skills

Be able to work with others and understand team dynamics

Be organized

Course Duration:

The DFSS course spans 3 months and consists of 15 days of in class training.
